In Hand, In Heart Program
Care. Communication. Connection

In Hand, In Heart is a hands-on, heart-first equine program focused on building connection, communication, and confidence — without ever putting a foot in the stirrup! Over the course of 6 weeks, participants will work one-on-one with horses from our program to learn the foundations of ethical horsemanship from the ground up.

Through structured groundwork, guided observation, and intentional care practices, students will explore how horses think, feel, and communicate. They’ll gain skills in leadership, empathy, and self-awareness - all while contributing to the emotional and physical wellness of the horses they work with. This program honors the value of horses at every stage of life and ability, and emphasizes what we can learn with horses, not just gain from them.

This program is for anyone who wants to grow their horse knowledge, nurture their sense of connection, and honor the idea that great horsemanship starts on the ground — and in the heart! There is no prior experience required - just an open mind and heart, and a willingness to learn and grow!

What to expect:

Each session of In Hand, In Heart  follows a simple but powerful routine:

Learn something new.

Reflect with intention.

Connect with a horse.

You can expect:

  • Thoughtful, classroom-style lessons on equine behavior, communication, and care

  • Time to consider intentions and reflect before engaging with the horses

  • Guided groundwork and non-mounted activities to build trust and partnership

  • Opportunities to re-consider - to reflect on what you experienced, felt, and learned

  • A supportive, welcoming space to grow your confidence around horses
