Setting Your Horse Up for Success Clinic with Deanna Preis

Saturday, April 11th and Sunday, April 12th, 2026

9:00am-5:30pm

Join us for a two-part horsemanship clinic with Deanna Preis of ShadeTree Stables that focuses on helping riders build confident partnerships and support healthy, balanced movement for their horses. Drawing from a horse-first philosophy rooted in biomechanics, behavior, and clear communication, Deanna will guide participants through both relational and physical foundations that lead to lasting success in training and everyday horsemanship. Suitable for all levels and disciplines.

Saturday Session: Bending, Collection, & Healthy Biomechanics

In this classroom session, Deanna breaks down the biomechanics behind healthy bending and ethical collection, helping riders understand how posture, balance, and movement patterns influence soundness and comfort. Participants will learn what bend and collection truly look like, common misunderstandings, and how to support correct movement through groundwork and riding. This session equips riders with science-based, easy-to-apply tools for helping their horses move with greater balance, strength, and longevity.

Sunday Session: Connection, Boundaries, & Relationship

This classroom session focuses on building a clear, trusting partnership through thoughtful boundaries, effective communication, and an understanding of how horses think and feel. Deanna will guide participants in recognizing true connection, interpreting the horse’s responses, and setting boundaries that strengthen safety and relationship rather than diminish it. Expect practical, horse-first strategies for fostering a calm, confident partner in any discipline.
