About Us

Stagecoach Stables was started in 1997 by Marv Walters and has served the Ames community by proving boarding, lessons, and training services for almost 3 decades. Rachel Haila and her family bought Stagecoach in Dec 2021, with the passion and desire to see it continue on and have since invested time, love, and finances in the facility and programs so that it could continue to serve the horse owners and enthusiasts of central Iowa.

Rachel's passion for horse wellness and welfare, combined with a love for people and providing access to horses, drives the priorities and practices at Stagecoach. Her desire is to provide people with a place to learn and grow in their love for horses and the programs at Stagecoach are centered around ethical horsemanship and a well-rounded foundation, no matter the discipline. Helping people see the value of every horse and how we can best connect and partner with them remain a passion and priority and you'll see that in all of our programs.

Knowing that not everyone can keep their horse on their own property, providing a safe and caring environment for those who are looking for boarding is another passion Rachel holds. Whether it's the facility design and spaces, safe fencing, turnout routines, or hay and feed. . . you'll see in our practices that we seek to hold to the mission and values below. Our community at Stagecoach is one that seeks to support one another in a positive and encouraging way, and you'll experience that in our staff and the owners who board with us.

We hope we will get the chance to meet you and show you what makes us special. Hope to see you at Stagecoach soon!
